Hi,

Just found this and think its a great program. I have a couple of ideas though...

What would be great (for me) is:

1. The offsite uploads could be scheduled/queued to occur within a specific time window, i.e. 0:00 to 7:00, but the network / CIF backup is completed ASAP i.e. 5pm? Our ISP gives us unlimited bandwidth during this time.
2. Option to compress all backups first, then upload offsite in a solid block of data trasfer, rather than, compress, upload, compress, upload.

I hope others might think these are useful ideas.

John

Hi,

Thank you for the feedback!
It seems in this case you must have a large file storage on your machine or local environment to keep all backups before uploading.
How about a case when you have several big databases and you'd like to backup them on a remote destination and you do not have free space to keep all backups at once on a local machine?

Regards,
Alexey.

Yes you are right, I do have a lot of storage available to me, so your second scenario doesn't apply to me.

Because I have this fixed window in which to upload my compressed data (Midnight to 7am without extra charges) it would be helpful to time my uploads. This would also be useful as I am backing up 3 SQL servers and need to co-ordinate the transfers as Box only seems to allow one session at at time.

I'm agree, your case sounds reasonable too. We'll consider this scenario and how to implement it as simple as it possible.
Thank you!

For now, we are working on it. We are planning to add this feature in the new version.

That's great to hear my idea will be incorporated. It would still be a useful feature for me to be able to defer large uploads to certain times.
